These are my final images that i be using. i have selected these ones because they were the most eye catching in colour and detail within these images. within all of the images there are all done by using only the ambient light and very little flash to get what i want by not drowning out the colours within the lights. i have only minimal adjustments with all of these images by just cropping them by 420mm x 297mm (A3) size with 300 pixels. the are 3 projects that i done and will explain why i chosen
these ones.
Halloween
Halloween is a great portrait photography that i taken at blush and the idea is to take images of people impressions and getting them into theme of the costumes what there wearing. the colour is bright but keeps with the dark effect of the horror theme i wanted in these images. the expression that i got on the people was striking and you could see there mood they where in and keeping into character with every shot that i done.
Fun fair
Fun fair is reportage photography and with the rides i wanted to show fast, fun and striking look of the rides. i be able to play with the shutter speed and gain that blurred look that makes the ride look fast and put movement within the image. i love how the colours gave the theme that i wanted and the smoke helped give that texture and gloomy effect for the ghost train.
Da Glacia
Da Glacia is another reportage photography and with this one is focus on the detail and colour of the stage and performers. the idea of getting different colours and getting them not to mix together but marge gradually to get that special effect. Da glacia is a more deep emolisonal peace that i love about it.
it is a difficult choice as all of them are so different but the same in what i love in taking photography and my two themes are "portrait and people" and "reportage" photography. to help with my choice of my final images, i be looking into what will fit into which theme unit and its greatness about the images, the detail and what would it be like for presentation to the public.
THEMES
first thing i wanted to look at is which images suited for which theme.
portrait and people
with portrait and people, the theme is the focus on peoples faces and expressions that is captured with every shot. the details and texture on people faces and upper body area giving them more focus on them then whats in the background.
reportage
reportage is on the focus on lots of people and locations including showing the theme and abmosphia of the event. the main focus is not just the people but the background and the active areas of the image.
summery
with Halloween, its is focus definitely on the people and there expressions making it less with the background given the portrait (focus) more on them then whats in the background. with the funfair its is more for the reportage as there is more focus on not just the people but more on the objects or rides there on and the images are more active so there is alot going on. with the last images Da Glacia is mostly for both as it shows people and the reportage of the lights and whats going on around them.
PRESENTATION AND MEDIA
Halloween
Halloween is centred on the night life public, giving out advertisement in to my photography and the venue it was done. the best option to display my images for the scene it is showing, is by presenting posters, website portfolios and magazines advertisement. This photography targets more for the local public that are more into the night life including that when doing this tipe of photography it sales itself by taking photos of the public having a great time and giving out memory's of the night. a great way to sale your images is letting them have print outs on the night including key rings. the new modern way is having them displayed on projector screens or any advertisement screens while through the night so that people would love to have your photo taken to see it on the big screen. DJ and local bands or gigs would like to show there styles and there work with the art of photography and using it as advertisement for them self but with it showing your images to the venues and business side to progress in more shots for other company's. this gives a great circle within the night life and progress with getting your images shown and brought to the public and present your work in that sector. the other ways to present my work is in magazines, which i have look at many night life images to let there readers see what happening with the inside of local bars and clubs.
as you can see, all images are displayed of the events what is going on with the photographers name on the side. with including that local venues want images for advertisement for events which is great in to looking into graphics and photoshopping to get the effect they want as you can see on the left. this was taken from a magizine called midland zone which features lots of photos of local scenes for people to view in there.
fun fair
alot of images to present them in meetings and can be viewed on a bigger screen or projector to show people with. Internet is a great way to present your work as you just can view most of them on google images or can put on face book and tweeter. the Internet provides information of myself if people wanted to book myself for any event and can view the work before hand.
there are many ways the present my work and with these images gallery's and Internet is the great way to show the world of my work.
Da Glacia
Da glacia is mostly in preforming art photography, so the audience is on people that are interested on preforming arts, music, dance. so to present my images there are several ways this can be carried out.
first one can be done through the media, by magazines, preforming arts or dance. like my last comment on night life most magazines love to present things through photography, so that people can see want is going on and compares with the writers words and research for readers can guide through what they are reading. 2nd i would present my work is at galleries that show them in a area that is well lit and making the white walls so that the images colours are not drowned out by the area and having the boarder frame white, like my funfair ones there vibrient colours, so having dark boarders just make it look to dark in the images and drown out the edges of the picture.
i have viewed different ways to present my work in a experdition and one way i found would look great for my images was this picture above. as you can see all my images are vibrant bright colours so having them using white lights on a white wall is going to bring them out and catch people eyes including putting them as canvas will bring them out.
FINAL DECISION
on final images
The 2 themes that i have decided is
HALLOWEEN
FUN FAIR
the reason is that i decided these two themes because that with Halloween, i wanted to do event photography and taking photos of the people, the atmoshere and the lights is what i like taking.
with taking photography in events there is a lot of opportunities to take photos for any one who wants to capture a memory of a event. including the industries of night club and local night club magazines are always looking into photographers to take great shot of event in the venues.
with funfair, i love to take images of action shots and movement of lighting, using shutter speed to get the shot i want and the colours, seeing the fun and joy from the rides.
with these two themes, there part to what i like doing and the presentation to let public and audience i want is the part i want to be involved in. with the nightlife and fun based job my photography does goes with what i would like to project to everyone.
Hi
ReplyDeleteAs we discussed last week the choices to be made over these images are difficult as all are fit for purpose and could be submitted for a final theme.
They are all equally strong and you have also written in depth as to why and what value they have for you.

Hi
ReplyDeleteYou just have to finish off 211 unit and make sure that you have finished discussing all the different methods for displaying photographs from website, magazines and exhibitions. Layouts and designs are also important to consider particularly as your images are so colourful.
